Hot water radiant panel

Efficient, environmentally friendly heating

Lower energy use, sustainable development, environmentally friendly operation, high comfort: this is what hot water radiant heating offers in one.

How radiant heating works: the rays of the Sun and the radiant panel

Today, there is an increasing expectation towards heating systems to run efficiently, at a low operating cost and in an environmentally conscious way – and, just as importantly, to provide a pleasant sense of warmth. Hot water radiant heating offers a modern and long-lasting solution for such expectations, ensuring long-term reliability.

Thanks to radiant heat transfer, comfort can be achieved at a lower air temperature. The room temperature can be planned to be 2 or 3 °C lower, which reduces energy consumption. The surface temperature of objects is 2 °C higher than the temperature of the air.

No heat cushion builds up in large spaces: contrary to 1.2 °C/m air stratification regarding convection heating, this value regarding radiant panels is 0.25 °C/m. As a result, the temperature under the roof is 10 °C lower at a height of 10 metres. Thanks to the smaller vertical temperature difference, up to 20–50% energy can be saved compared to conventional air heating systems, based on the given characteristics of the building.

Radiant heat provides a more natural and more even sense of warmth, while the heat energy can be used where it is most needed: it warms bodies and objects, so these bodies become radiant themselves and take part in creating the pleasant warmth. As a result, the system can be run in a very economical way and can help reduce energy consumption.

If there is no significant internal heat gain in the given area, radiant heating is also suitable for cooling, helping to maintain a pleasant indoor climate.

The operation of radiant heating is based on a principle well known in nature. Just line the rays of the Sun, which first heat up the ground, the buildings and objects first, and the air second, radiant heating also passes the heat energy directly to surfaces and to people. The warmed surfaces then gradually pass the heat on to their surroundings, so an even and pleasant sense of warmth can develop.

The system creates no air movement, so it causes no draught and does not stir up dust: it operates in a completely draught-free and silent way. This provides a more pleasant and cleaner indoor environment for employees and for everyone else present.

Thanks to its simple construction, the system has long service life, runs in a very reliable manner and is completely maintenance-free.

Areas of use

Hot water radiant panels are an ideal solution in every building where energy-efficient, even and comfortable heating is of key importance, especially rooms or halls with a high ceiling (above 3.5 metres).

Its areas of application include:

  • industrial production and assembly halls;
  • workshops and plant buildings;
  • warehouses and logistics centres;
  • agricultural facilities;
  • sports halls and other sports facilities;
  • department stores, showrooms and exhibition spaces;
  • office buildings and public institutions;
  • film studios and hangars;
  • rooms with fire and explosion hazard;
  • any building where the ceiling height exceeds 3.5 metres.
