About powder coating
Powder coating is still often commonly called “sintering”, although sintering is actually a separate materials technology. In the past, heated workpieces were dipped in a fluidised powder bed; modern technologies significantly differ from those earlier methods, as today powder is applied with dedicated spray equipment under properly controlled conditions, which results in a more even coating thickness and better surface quality.
Today’s industry mainly uses electrostatic and tribostatic powder application processes. Our plant uses electrostatic powder coating technology, in the course of which powder particles are electrically charged and then attracted to the surface of the earthed workpiece. This enables the formation of an even coating surface, and the resulting finish, aesthetic in appearance and with good mechanical properties, provides durable, long-term protection.
