Surface treatment

Once the surface has been properly prepared, chemical pre-treatment is one of the most important technological steps before powder coating, as it is responsible for removing contamination from the surface, preparing the surface for coating, as well as ensuring proper adhesion and corrosion protection.

Our plant has two different chemical pre-treatment lines, therefore the technology used can always be selected in consideration of the given base material and the requirements of the customer.

One of our pre-treatment lines uses modern multifunctional chemicals and is suitable for treating iron, steel, aluminium and galvanised steel parts as well. The first phase is phosphating, where the parts are degreased and the conversion layer is formed at the same time. After multi-stage rinsing, the surface is passivated: the piece get fully coated, which considerably increases its corrosion resistance.

Our other pre-treatment line is dedicated to aluminium parts and meets the Qualicoat requirements. After etching and multi-stage rinsing, aluminium profile pieces are given a titanium-based layer.

After either pre-treatment process, the parts move into the dryer, where the moisture is dried off the surface, and the subsequent step is applying powder coating.
